XL > These have been hand feed (not recommended) so are tolerant of humans. But not of being chased mercilessly by a 7, 5, 4 and 3 year old into a corner. Their MO is to disembowel or drown.

Yeah, they are inch and a bit long bull ants - I think these are Myrmecia gulosa. The biggest of the big, aggressive jumping bastards.

Yeah, we did the walking thing. We were there one particularly hot and humid January and were treated to one of the best storms I've ever seen. On the horizon, thunder, lightning, wind, the whole bit. Fucking awesome night, that one.
Welcome Mercury. I have a long standing fantasy to travel SA, Africa in general.
