Chores

Just cleaning up again this weekend. Gardening, cleaning windows and bugs out of the outdoor lighting, replacing bulbs - that sort of thing. Entirely unremarkable.

Which deadly bug is that one?

Ute > I'd normally say 'nah. just let it be' but these things are too cool when you poke them with a stick to be ignored. I just released it over the fence in the neighbors place.

"Just a funnel web.." Just?!

I'm guessing you're not on very friendly terms with the neighbours? ;o)

The neighbors are fine - This one is a small female - not a male as I first thought - so it will pretty much stay in one place forever - build a burrow and sit in it. It is the males that wander about in summer looking for a lady. As the neighbors don't have kids and leave the garden where I put it to grow wild, it will just get on and be a spider without harming anyone.

Hi sweetie. I find that they are allergic to me. Spiders...bugs of any kind don't go in my yard, house or near me. If they do they die. Poor things...I guess I'm just clumsy, why just the other day I accidently stepped on a spider that was walking on all eight up the living room wall.

*smiles*

later sweetie. xxx

Teach them from young to get rid of those pesky creatures is what I say. :)

People spent there entire lives walking on carpet, machined wood, concrete and asphalt. They can go weeks at a time without setting foot on the planet - every step is onto some other constructed material, an entirly built environment.

I want my kids to get dirt between their toes. Not to be afraid of creatures. Learn respect where it is due but not fear.

I imagine that I will someday teach my imaginary children how to use Mother Nature against others. It’s almost like, but not really, your ethos.

Most of us live lives that are entirely unremarkable. But without giant killer spiders pushing our wheelbarrows around.

The though of my husband skinning me alive is the only reason I didn't chuck his nice laptop across the room when I scrolled down your photo...I'll thank you tomorrow for the inability to sleep tonight ;)

There was a song back in the 1970s, "I don't like spiders and snakes, and that aint what it takes to love me, like I wanna be loved by you." And now, thanks to you, that song is stuck in my head. BLEARGH!

Ick! Aren't you afraid a male or two will come wandering through the yard in search of this sheila?

I know they can't jump, but I'd be freaking out if I saw this sucker. I'm too scared to even get close enough to squish these beasties.

One of the few things I DON'T miss about Oz.

I thought you can't like the neighbours much too.

If you got a ladle or spoon or somesuch you could have a competition to see how far you can throw it.

passes the time...
