Neighbors drop in for breakfast
We had the neighbours drop in for breakfast on Saturday.
These wild Rainbow lorikeets are a regular visitor and are cheeky enough land on you and accept fruit from your hands. The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo are a little more timid, preferring to graze just out of toddler reach. Recently we have been getting a few Crimson and Eastern Rosellas but they have been too quick to get a good photo.

That's amazing! They are the most gorgeous birds. How neat that they just land on your hand for food.
You shouldn't really feed them but everybody does so they are partially tame. The problem is that people give them crap like bread and honey, or worse - seed, and they end up with soft bones and broken wings and the seed wears down their beaks. They are supposed to eat nectar and flowers and some fruit. We give them a little pear or apple or just water, but just a bit, so they hang around and come visit but don't depend on handouts and forage for themselves.
Arrgghhh! You know how i feel about birds. That's my worst nightmare!!
:-)
