America has voted

America has voted. We don't get to vote in US elections tho considering the influence that the US has over the rest of the world, perhaps we should.
Regardless, I am pleased by the results. Rumsfeld has fallen on his sword and the Bush administration, whilst still in power will at least be held accountable. Not at all a terrible scenario. The right in Australia wriggles but has more humility in the US. I've work to do, so check back later and I'll put up a pick or two of mum's visit.

I'm pretty happy with the results too, though it's a shame to have taken this long for American voters to open their eyes.

I will be very interested to see how the next 2 years play out, and particularly how the Democrats will handle their new-found majority. Remember the GOP came to power in '94 because of a major upwelling of disillusionment and discontent towards the way the Democrats wielded their control of both houses of Congress. Not too much different than yesterday really.

It will also be interesting to see how Howard reacts to the change in power.
