New Favorite

With apologies to Alison Krauss, I've a new fav

Lashings and lashings of oyster sauce has always gone well with broccoli but the other day we were cooking a stir fry on the barbie and I drizzled the steak slices in kecap manise. It nicely embraces the stir fried noodle and veggies with its yumminess.

Sorry oyster - its been nice

But I've never had fish sauce. (And holy shit, I just spelled fish phish. They've invaded my brain...)

Is it like how soy sauce makes everything taste like soy? Wait, no. Or cocktail sauce makes things taste like Cosmopolitans and Martinis? No....

You and I can never make Thai taste as good as the restaurant food. I recon it is because they trick is into putting fish sauce in everything.
